In Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus took oath of office and secrecy as head of interim government. In the swearing-in ceremony held at Bangabhaban, Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin administered the oath of office and secrecy to all the members of the interim government including Mohammad Yunus.
After former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Bangladesh, Nobel Prize winner Mohammad Yunus was elected the head of the interim government. Now he has taken the oath of office and secrecy.
The government will ensure the safety of the citizens of the country’
Bangladesh interim government chief Prof. Mohammad Yunus said that the government led by him will ensure the safety of the citizens of the country. After returning to Dhaka from Paris, Yunus was welcomed at the airport by Army Chief Waqar Uz Zaman, senior officials and student leaders. During this, he said, the first task of his government will be to bring law and order back on track, control chaos and stop attacks on minorities. He urged the public to support him in rebuilding the country.
Mohammad Yunus said that he has agreed to become the head of the interim government on the request of students and youth. Yunus said, ‘If you have faith in me, then ensure that no one will be attacked anywhere in the country. This is our first responsibility.
