French President Emmanuel Macron has appointed the new Prime Minister of the country. 73-year-old François Bayrou will now be the new PM of France. Bayrou is known as a centrist leader. He will be the fourth leader to become Prime Minister in the country this year.

It is worth noting that last week, right-wing Prime Minister Michel Barnier had to step down after a no-confidence motion was brought in the French Parliament. Since then, a political crisis had arisen in the country.

Emmanuel Macron is currently the head of the centrist Modem (MoDem) party. And is one of the top leaders of south-west France. He has also previously been the Education Minister of France and the Mayor of the city of Pau in the south-west. He has been a close associate of President Emmanuel Macron since his bumper victory in 2017.

Bairou is the fourth Prime Minister of France this year. Due to the divided parliament in the country, no party has got absolute majority. Leftist parties got a good number of votes in the elections held in June. However, President Macron was forced to form a minority government.
