Families of those killed in the devastating plane crash in South Korea in December last year have filed a complaint against 15 people, including the country’s transport minister and airline chief, whom they believe are responsible for the accident. Let us tell you that, in the Jeju Air plane crash, all except two of the 181 people on board were killed.

Police and government officials are investigating the accident

Police and government officials are already investigating the Jeju Air accident, so the complaint is largely seen as a symbolic move demanding a faster and more thorough investigation. At the same time, many grieving families have complained that they see a lack of meaningful progress in efforts to find out what caused the accident and who is responsible for it.

Victims’ relatives filed complaints against them

On Tuesday, 72 grieving relatives submitted complaints to the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency in southern South Korea, according to their lawyers and police. According to a statement issued by a group of lawyers supporting the relatives, the 15 people named in the complaint include the Minister of Transport, the president of Jeju Air and airline officials handling maintenance and safety issues, as well as officials at Muan International Airport, who are responsible for preventing bird strikes, air traffic control and facility management.
