Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels fired a missile into central Israel on Sunday morning. The missile fell in an open area near Israel’s international airport. After this, sirens started ringing. This is the latest attack amid the ongoing war in Gaza. Israel has warned of retaliation.

There are no reports of casualties in this attack. Israeli media saw people running towards shelters. The airport authority said that airport operations resumed normally shortly after the attack.

According to media reports, a fire broke out in a rural area of Israel. A piece of an interceptor missile was also found at a train station. The Israeli army made several attempts to intercept the missile. However, it is not yet clear whether it got any success in this or not. The army said the missile broke into pieces in the air and the incident is under investigation.

Houthi rebels have fired several drones and missiles towards Israel since the Gaza war began. In July, an Iran-made drone attacked Tel Aviv, killing one person and injuring ten others. Israel has also carried out several airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a cabinet meeting after the attack. In which he hinted at retaliation. He said, Houthi rebels should now understand that we have to pay a heavy price for any attack on us.

Lebanon fired about 40 rockets on Sunday, most of which were either intercepted or fell in open areas. At the same time, in a separate incident, Israel dropped leaflets in Lebanon’s Al-Wazzani area, appealing to the residents to evacuate the area. However, later it was told to be the mistake of the local commander and it was said that no order was given to vacate the area.

Israel has recently given information about the tunnels discovered on the Gaza border, out of which only nine tunnels were for entering Egypt. All the tunnels have been closed. Egypt had already closed the tunnels on its side. Due to the war, international flights have canceled flights to Israel several times, which has put additional pressure on the country’s economy.

The latest missile attack has further increased the ongoing conflicts between Israel and Houthi rebels. It has also become clear that there is no reduction in tension in the area and the situation is still very tense.
