Pakistan’s newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a controversial statement against India in the Parliament. It quickly became a topic of discussion in the national and international media. He once again sang the praises of Kashmir in the Parliament. He also reiterated that his government will not shy away from establishing friendly relations with neighboring countries. His reference was towards India. His government will focus on increasing the number of friends. Along with the Kashmir issue, he also mentioned Palestine in West Asia. He said that Pakistan is with Palestine.
Shahbaz called, ‘Let us all unite and pass a resolution in the National Assembly for the freedom of Kashmiris and Palestinians.’ He also thanked the allies in the coalition government for showing confidence in him and electing him as PM/Leader of the House. Know how many MPs supported him.

During this period, 201 MPs voted in support of Shahbaz. His rival Omar Ayub Khan got only 92 votes. According to reports, Shehbaz’s rival Omar Ayub Khan has the support of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The Speaker in Parliament announced the election of Shahbaz as Prime Minister. Earlier, Shahbaz was also seen taking blessings from elder brother and former PM Nawaz Sharif.
