Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a congratulatory message to the new Prime Minister of neighboring country Nepal KP Sharma on Friday. PM Modi said in his message that our partnership has opened new avenues of cooperation. He also promised that his government will remain a steadfast partner of the Himalayan country towards economic prosperity.

Prime Minister Modi said that with the leadership and valuable experience of PM Oli, the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries will move forward in a positive direction for the benefit of the people. He said that Nepal remains a special and priority partner under India’s Neighborhood First policy.

Oli took oath as the 45th Prime Minister of Nepal on 15 July. This is his fourth term. The new government led by Oli faces the difficult challenge of providing political stability in the country.According to PM Oli’s secretariat, the Indian Prime Minister said that his government is committed to remain a steadfast partner of Nepal in achieving its economic prosperity and development priorities by strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships and exploring new opportunities for cooperation.

The centuries-old shared culture, civilization and open borders between the two countries have forged strong ties between the people of the two countries. These bonds give energy, enthusiasm and strength to our partnership. He said that our bilateral cooperation has progressed in recent years, including in the areas of connectivity, energy, developmental partnership and people-to-people exchanges. We have always valued your contribution in this visit.

He urged Prime Minister Oli to partner and cooperate in the overall development of both countries. PM Modi said that I look forward to working closely with you to ensure that our bilateral partnership grows even further and we help realize the aspirations of the people of both our countries.
