Amid the happiness of Diwali, two friends died in a tragic accident when an unknown vehicle hit their motorcycle near village Karwalian. The accident happened around 11 pm when Vijay Kumar (25), resident of Murgi Mohalla, Batala and Lovepreet Singh (28), resident of village Burj Araiyan were returning to their village.
According to the information, Lovepreet Singh’s car had an accident on the night of Diwali. After this, he called his friend Vijay Kumar and asked for help. Vijay left on his motorcycle to drop Lovepreet to his village Burj Araiyan, but on the way, both of them died on the spot after being hit by an unknown vehicle near village Karwalian.
After the incident, both were taken to Batala Civil Hospital, but doctors declared them dead. On Friday, the police of police station Kila Lal Singh got the post-mortem of both the bodies done and started investigating the case.
The deceased Lovepreet Singh used to run a milk dairy in Batala and he was married, he also has two small children. Police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and further investigation is underway.
SHO Prabhjot Singh said that both the youths died in a road accident and police have registered a case and started investigation.
