The soldiers of the 27th Battalion of the Border Security Force recovered 2 kg 804 grams of heroin worth about Rs 13 crore from the fields of a farmer based on information from him.

In this regard, Assistant Sub Inspector Raghubir Singh posted at Dera Baba Nanak Police Station said that the officer of the 27th Battalion of the Border Security Force posted at Metla Chowki informed us that the farmer Balwinder Singh, son of Makkhan Singh, had informed him that an unclaimed packet was lying in his fields. When the matter was investigated on the spot, five packets of heroin were recovered from it. The police officer said that on receiving the information, he reached the spot and took the heroin in his possession and when the investigation was done, 2 kg 804 grams of heroin was recovered from five packets. The police officer said that a case has been registered in this regard and investigation has been started.
