Governor Gulabchand Kataria will visit Punjab from Thursday. Governor Kataria will be on a tour for about a week. The special thing about his tour is that the Governor will also undertake a walking tour. He will mobilize the residents of the state against drug abuse by undertaking a walking tour in Dera Baba Nanak and Fatehgarh Churian of the border district Gurdaspur.
DC Gurdaspur Dalwinderjit Singh held a meeting with the officials in Dera Baba Nanak and Fatehgarh Churian to take stock of the preparations for the Governor’s tour. SSP Sohail Qasim Mir, Dr. Harjinder Singh Bedi ADC, Gurpreet Singh ADC (Development), Jaspinder Singh SDM Dinanagar, Manjit Singh, Rajpal Singh Sekhon SDM Dera Baba Nanak, Veerpal Kaur SDM Fatehgarh Churian, Kuljit Singh DM Mandiboard, TR Sharma Manager Kartarpur Corridor and other officials were present in the meeting.
DC said that the Governor will start the anti-drug march from Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor on April 3 at 7 am and will end at St. Francis School, Dera Baba Nanak. Youths, sportspersons, students, writers, intellectuals, representatives of various social organizations and common people of the district will participate in the march and take an oath to make Punjab drug-free. During the march, the Governor will also hold a meeting with representatives of Village Defense Committees.
DC said that the second day of the march will start from Badesha Palace, Village Dandhe and will end at SD College Fatehgarh Churian. The march will be held in Amritsar district from April 5 to 8. DC Dalwinderjit Singh said that preparations for the march have been completed.
