A local Congress leader has died in Punjab. In Jagraon, Ludhiana, there was a ruckus on Raikot Road late on Tuesday night when a bike-riding Congress block committee member died under suspicious circumstances. The deceased Rajpal Singh alias Pala Baba was a resident of Sherpur Phatak. The family members created a ruckus over this matter and alleged that during the blockade, the police personnel pushed Rajpal, due to which he died.

On receiving information in this regard, there was a stir in the police department as well. In a hurry, the police station city police along with the bus stand outpost police reached Kalyani Hospital on Raikot Road. Where the family and other people blocked the road by parking their vehicle in the middle of the road. SHO City Amritpal, who reached the spot, pacified the people and assured them of investigating the matter. The body has been taken into custody and sent to the government hospital. The post-mortem of the body will be done on Wednesday.
The son of Galla Mazdoor Committee head and Congress leader Rajpal Singh alias Pala Baba, who lives near GHG Academy, alleged that he was going home on a motorcycle on Tuesday night. Police personnel stopped him near Sherpur Chowk gate. The policemen asked him for the bike’s documents. The son asked his father Rajpal Singh alias Pala to bring the papers of the motorcycle kept at home. Rajpal Singh reached with the papers and after showing the papers to the police, the policemen pushed him. Rajpal fell down and became unconscious. He was taken to Kalyani Hospital, where the doctor declared Rajpal dead.
Warning of strike given
Labor leader Kanwaljit Khanna, who was present outside the hospital, said that the police has snatched his friend. We will sit quietly after registering a murder case against all those policemen. On Wednesday, a strike has been announced in Asia’s second largest grain market. Arhatiyas, laborers, members of Sheller Association will participate in the strike. However, in the morning, talks have been held with all the administration officials including SSP Navneet Singh Bains. The next strategy will be prepared after meeting him in the morning.

On the other hand, DSP Jasjyot Singh said that the deceased had consumed too much alcohol, due to which the deceased was obstructing the police duty. No police personnel pushed the deceased. He got a heart attack due to excessive heat and drinking alcohol. The police has brought him to the hospital.
