The police has immediately closed the social media accounts of gangster Sagar Newton, who has become a headache for the Ludhiana Police of Punjab. It has been learned that Sagar Newton and some of his associates had a total of 10 Instagram or Facebook accounts, on which he used to upload videos with weapons.
Similarly, he also used to give threats etc. on social media. The police have closed the accounts of these criminals who spread chaos through social networking sites. The police arrested four associates of Sagar Newton yesterday. The police is continuously interrogating these four.
Takes responsibility for crimes through social media
Newton has many accounts on Instagram, where he often uploads videos and photos. He posts videos of his crimes on social media and takes responsibility for the crimes committed. In this way, he conveys his message to the people. A large number of youth are also following his account, which can attract them to the world of crime in some way or the other.
Bullets fired in Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar
Recently, when Newton and his associates barged into Navi’s house in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and attacked his family, the gangster had uploaded a post on his Instagram account in which he challenged the Ludhiana police. Since Navi’s grandmother died of alleged injuries a few weeks after the attack, Newton’s wife Vanshika was arrested by the police on charges of criminal conspiracy and sheltering her husband.
However, the gangster had condemned the police action. He had said that if the police release his wife, he will surrender, otherwise he will show his strength by becoming a gangster.
Recently, Newton had sent his associates who fired at Navi’s house in Karnail Singh Nagar and after the incident, the gangster again shared a message on social media in which he took responsibility for the attack. He admitted that he had sent his men to fire at Navi’s house.
Glorifies gangster culture on social media
Newton has several accounts on Instagram and Facebook, where he has posted several videos of himself glorifying gangster culture and challenging his rivals. He has also posted videos showing off the number of weapons he owns. In some videos, he also shows his firing skills. In most of the videos, he has used a song as background music, which glorifies gangs, weapons and drugs.
The gangster does not run social media accounts himself but his associates
The gangster has several videos on his social media accounts, which are shot inside jails. Even his video of being produced in court was allegedly made by his associates and later updated on his Instagram account.
Police sources said that usually the police do not deactivate the accounts of gangsters as it helps the police to trace their hideouts. Most of his accounts were usually being operated not by him but by his close associates. The police only closed down accounts that were run by the gangster’s associates and were not directly linked to him.
