VHP leader murder case…..Key accused who supplied illegal weapons arrested from Ludhiana.

The key accused who supplied illegal weapons used in the murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar alias Vikas Bagga in Punjab was arrested from Ludhiana. On Sunday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) achieved this success in a joint operation with Delhi Police Special Cell.

The accused has been identified as Dharminder Kumar alias Kunal. After the murder of Vikas Bagga on 13 April 2024, the case was taken over by the NIA on 9 May 2024. After which RC-06/2024 NIA DLI case was prepared by the NIA.

On Sunday morning, teams of NIA and Delhi Police Special Cell raided Ludhiana in Punjab and arrested Dharminder Kumar. He has been detained under various sections of UAPA and Arms Act of IPC.

Khalistan link came to the fore in the investigation

This year, Vikas Bagga was shot dead in Nangal in Rupnagar district of Punjab on 13 April 2024. Vikas Bagga was the district president of Nangal of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. At the time he was shot, he was sitting in his confectionery shop.

On 9 May 2024, the NIA took the case in its hands and was continuously working in collaboration with the Special Cell of Delhi Police to arrest the accused who carried out the incident. The investigation revealed that Khalistani terrorists sitting abroad had planned this incident.

Before the murder, the accused had also come to Vikas Bagga’s shop, which was captured in CCTV. Illegal weapons were purchased from Madhya Pradesh

The NIA investigation had revealed that accused Dharminder had purchased illegal weapons and ammunition from Madhya Pradesh. The weapons were supplied to the shooters on the instructions of Khalistani terrorist Harvinder Kumar alias Sonu, who lives abroad. The shooters have been identified as Mandeep Kumar alias Mangali and Surinder Kumar alias Rika, both residents of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in Punjab. They were arrested on August 16 and are currently in judicial custody.

Search for two BKI operatives continues

At the same time, the search for two other accused Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operatives Harjeet Singh alias Ladhi resident of Nawanshahr Punjab and Kulbir Singh alias Sidhu resident of Yamuna Nagar Haryana is on. A cash reward of Rs 10 lakh each has also been issued by the NIA for these two operatives.
