On the occasion of the country’s 77th Independence Day, a lot of enthusiasm was found among the people during the Retreat Ceremony at the Attari-Wagah border on Tuesday. A lot of enthusiasm was also seen among the Border Security Forces (BSF) jawans. In front of his zeal and enthusiasm, the soldiers of the enemy country looked fearful. Every Indian’s head was raised with pride after seeing the bold moves and steely intentions of the Indian soldiers. Enthusiastic people raised slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Vande Mataram and Hindustan Zindabad during this period. About 40,000 spectators participated in the retreat ceremony.

This time special arrangements have been made by BSF for the tourists. About 1700 special guests, including children from various schools, senior officers of the Army and Air Force, have become a part of this retreat ceremony. Sarpanchs, teachers, nurses, farmers of border villages were among the invited guests. School children presented a colorful programme. Various social organizations also presented patriotic programmes. This time special arrangements have also been made for the tourists.

The Beating the Retreat ceremony is held at the Joint Check Post site (JCP). The joint program started between the security forces of the two countries since the year 1959 has taken the form of a tradition. Every year the Attari-Wagah border between India and Pakistan is in high spirits during the Retreat Ceremony. The retreat ceremony, which lasts for 35 minutes daily, becomes special on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day or Republic Day, which lasts from 60 minutes to 120 minutes.
Jagrit Sen Negi hoisted the tricolor
On Tuesday, a function was organized by the Custom Commissionerate at Joint Check Post (JCP) Attari on the occasion of the country’s 77th Independence Day. Principal Commissioner of Customs Jagrit Singh Negi unfurled the national flag and saluted the tricolor during the function. On this occasion, he appreciated the duty rendered by the Customs officers at JCP Attari Border for their sincere services and congratulated the officers and employees of the department on the Independence Day of the country.
