Farmer’s death case–No action, prescription canceled…….Government job, 10 lakh compensation will be given

An agreement has been reached between the farmers’ organizations and the administration on Wednesday evening in the case of farmer’s death in Longowal. Farmer representatives gave formal information about this during the dharna. Dilbagh Singh and Jaswinder Singh said that in Sangrur, a consensus has been reached with several officials including IG MS Chhina on the Longowal episode.


Action will not be taken against any party on behalf of the farmer and the police. The cases registered against the farmers will be cancelled. The detained farmers will be released. Rs 10 lakh compensation and government job will be given to the family members of farmer Pritam Singh who lost his life.

The government will compensate for the loss of vehicles of the farmers. The seriously injured will get Rs 2 lakh as compensation and the moderately injured will get Rs 1 lakh as compensation. Farmer leaders said that 16 farmer organizations will continue their strike on other demands.

The demand for giving fair price to the crops including providing relief to the flood victims is still pending.
