The Border Security Force (BSF) has succeeded in catching an intruder in Amritsar district on the India-Pakistan international border last night. The intruder caught at midnight had crossed the international border and entered Indian territory.

The BSF jawans surrounded him with great vigilance and succeeded in catching him without causing any harm. BSF got this success in the area adjacent to Ratan Khurd village in Amritsar district. According to the information received, the intruder caught had reached near the border security fence at around 12.15 in the night. During interrogation, the accused told himself to be a Pakistani citizen.
During the search of the intruder, 01 mobile phone, 01 Pakistani national identity card, 01 pendrive and Pakistani currency worth Rs 175 along with other common items were recovered from his possession. After initial interrogation by BSF and allied agencies, the Pakistani intruder has been handed over to the local police for further investigation and to know about his intention or motive of crossing the IB.
This is the second infiltration attempt from Amritsar border in a week. On July 23 itself, BSF had caught an intruder. After the sighting of suspects in Pathankot, incidents of infiltration have started coming to light on Amritsar border as well. Due to which BSF has increased its vigilance.
