Counter Intelligence (CI) Bathinda in a joint operation with Sri Muktsar Sahib Police has arrested Lovejit Singh alias Labha, another key accused involved in the Ferozepur triple murder case, from Muktsar Sahib. This operation has been carried out by the Anti-Gangster Task Force after the arrest of five people including Sunil Bhandari alias Nata, the mastermind of the recent three murders in Ferozepur, on July 31, 2024.
According to the police, accused Lovejit Singh is the main associate of gangster Sunil Bhandari alias Nata and he had given shelter to him and his associates after the murder. He said that the police teams have also recovered two pistols – a .30 bore pistol and a .32 bore pistol along with four cartridges from the possession of the arrested accused Lovejit alias Labha.
AIG CI Bathinda Avneet Kaur Sidhu said that the police teams had received intelligence about the presence of a suspect in village Khane Ki Dhaba and village Ina Kheda. She said that acting immediately on this, CIA, during a joint operation with Sri Muktsar Sahib Police, Bathinda Police teams arrested the accused Lovejit Singh from near Sue Bridge in village Inakheda.
After this, a case has been registered against the accused at Police Station Sadar Malot Sri Muktsar Sahib. He informed that as per the previous criminal record, the arrested accused Lovejit Singh was facing criminal trial under the NDPS Act and was released from Faridkot jail in September 2023.
