The number of deaths due to drug overdose is increasing continuously in Punjab. In Moga, four children lost their father due to drug addiction. On the other hand, a day before Rakhi, three sisters lost their brother. Here a person died due to drug overdose.

The body of a person was found on Saturday evening from Sadha Wali Basti on Gill Road in Moga. On Sunday, the family members identified the body. The deceased has been identified as Kimti Lal (35), a resident of Moga. Kimti Lal was a drug addict. He was taking chitta for some days. The deceased has four small children.

The family alleged that drugs are being sold openly in Moga. Which should be stopped so that no one else’s children become orphan. The police have started investigation on the statement of the family.

The deceased’s wife Santosh Rani said that her husband Kimti Lal was a drug addict. He used to bring drugs from Sadha Wali Basti earlier also. He went to work on Saturday morning and did not return home at night. On Sunday morning it was learnt that her husband had died. Santosh Rani said that she has four children. How will she raise these children alone? The deceased’s wife has demanded justice. The woman says that no other child should become orphan like hers due to drugs. Strict action should be taken against those who sell drugs.
