A Thar hit several vehicles. A couple going on a bike also came under the grip of Thar, due to which the woman died. This accident happened near village Sidhwan Kalan. The deceased woman has been identified as Ranjit Kaur (72), resident of village Kokri Kalan, Moga. While her husband Darshan Singh was sent to the hospital in an ambulance in an injured state. After the accident, the Thar driver ran the car on the footpath and fled from the spot. Dakha police chased and arrested the accused.
According to the people, the Thar driver was intoxicated due to which he was driving the car unconscious. After the accident, the Thar driver fled towards Mullapur Dakha. Chowkiman police took the body of the deceased woman in custody and kept it in the government hospital. Police of Thana Sadar took the vehicles in custody and started action.
According to the information, the Thar driver coming from Moga was driving the car at a high speed while intoxicated. The Thar first hit a car near Raja Dhaba on the Ludhiana-Ferozepur highway. After this, it hit another car running at some distance and moved ahead. The accused Thar driver did not stop here also and while driving the car, hit the elderly couple going on a bike from behind before the toll plaza. The elderly couple jumped and fell far away, due to which the woman died on the spot, while her husband was seriously injured. The accused Thar driver drove away the car from there. Dakha police caught the accused Thar driver. Regarding this matter, the Sadar police station has taken all the damaged vehicles into custody and started investigation.
