International drug smuggler Amritpal Singh alias Fauji, who was absconding in the 38 kg heroin case in Jammu and Kashmir, has been arrested by the Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police with 12 kg heroin. He has been arrested from village Kasel, who is a resident of this village. The consignment of heroin has come from Pakistan, about which the police is interrogating.
DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav said that Counter Intelligence Jalandhar has exposed a big smuggling gang. Police teams were chasing the absconding accused associated with a big drug racket for a long time. The accused was arrested on Sunday on the basis of secret information. The police will soon present the accused in the court and take him on remand and inquire as to which drug smuggler from Pakistan the said accused was in touch with.
Initial investigation has revealed that the said heroin came from Pakistan across the border. Jammu and Kashmir Police was looking for Fauji in the 38 kg heroin case. The gang’s international links have been revealed. Fauji is working for a Dubai-based network run by notorious smuggler Amritpal Singh Bath. The police have also named Amritpal Bath.
