5 arms smugglers have been arrested in Amritsar, Punjab. Islamabad police station has arrested these five vicious members of the arms smuggling gang. The police is also surprised to know the accused’s method of arms smuggling. The accused set up carts in different areas of Amritsar. They used to supply weapons under the guise of carts.

The names of the accused are Mohammad Akbar resident of Kot Khalsa, Javed Khan resident of Guru Nanak, Qasim resident of Kot Khalsa, Alameen resident of Dashmesh Nagar and Mukesh Kumar Mukkhu resident of district Ganganagar, Rajasthan. Police have recovered five pistols and thirty cartridges from these accused.

The accused were doing the business of selling pistols and cartridges by setting up Kulfi carts in Islamabad area. The leader of these accused is Mukesh Kumar Mukkhu, who orders weapons from Pakistan and gives them to these accused.

DCP Alam Vijay, ADCP Vishal Jeet Singh and ACP Jaspal Singh said that earlier four accused from Amritsar were arrested and three pistols and cartridges were recovered from them. During interrogation of these four, it was found that Mukesh Mukhu was coming to Amritsar to give them two pistols. Under this, a trap was laid and blockade was done and accused Mukesh was arrested and two more pistols were recovered from him.

He said that the accused Mohammad Akbar, Javed Khan, Qasim and Alameen set up Kulfi carts in Putlighar, Cantonment and Kot Khalsa areas. At present, five accused have been produced in the court and taken on remand, so that it can be known who else is involved in the gang along with the accused and to whom they supply weapons.
