Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar is constantly seen distancing himself from the organization. Recently, State President Sunil Jakhar had also offered to leave the responsibility of the post in front of PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and National President JP Nadda. At that time Jakhar had asked the BJP high command to change its attitude towards Punjab.
In fact, State President Sunil Jakhar is constantly angry with the party high command, in the last Lok Sabha elections, Jakhar did not get his way regarding ticket distribution on many seats. After this, BJP declared Ravneet Singh Bittu as its candidate from Ludhiana. Despite Bittu losing the election, the BJP high command entrusted him with the responsibility of Union Minister of State for Railways and Minister of State for Food Processing Industries.
If the party leaders are to be believed, the Chief is angry about Bittu’s growing stature. However, on Saturday, while talking to the media at the party office in Chandigarh, on a question, Minister Bittu said that he will work to take forward the party’s activities in the state on the instructions of state president Sunil Jakhar and on other matters, he cited rumors spread by the opposition.
According to sources related to the party, the face of the state president can be changed after the by-elections on four assembly seats. The party high command has made its leader from Punjab Ravneet Singh Bittu a big face in the state politics by giving him the position of Minister of State at the Center despite losing the election. Bittu’s family political existence is also no less than anyone else, he is the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. Bittu left the Congress and joined the BJP in the last Lok Sabha elections. If the state unit leaders are to be believed, the party high command can also hand over the responsibility of Punjab President to Union Minister of State Bittu.
