The entire smuggling network is being investigated. This information was provided by Amritsar Rural SSP Kanwalpreet Singh Chahal in a press conference on Wednesday.

This breakthrough was achieved based on intelligence and technical information.

The SSP stated that the Gharinda police station achieved this success based on intelligence and technical information. During a blockade, two youths riding a bike were stopped and searched, and 10 kg of heroin was recovered from their possession. A case was registered against both of them under the NDPS Act and they were arrested.

Another accused who had come to receive the consignment was also apprehended at the scene.

He said that in a second operation, another accused who had come to receive a consignment of five kg of heroin sent from Pakistan via drone near Dhanoe village was also apprehended at the scene. Preliminary investigations have revealed that attempts to smuggle drugs from across the border using drones are ongoing.
