It is being claimed that Amritsar Police of Punjab has achieved a big success. It is being told that the police has succeeded in destroying a big network of a smuggling gang. The number of people involved in this racket including the kingpin is being told to be 12. All of them are said to be between 20 and 30 years of age. The interesting aspect is that an Anganwadi women worker turned out to be their shelter to hide drugs and weapons.
Initial investigation has revealed that the wires of this business were connected from Pakistan to Jammu and Kashmir. Heroin worth about 12 crores, 3 ultra-modern pistols (30 bore), 2 lakh rupees (Indian currency) and an expensive car were recovered from their possession. They were produced in the court. It is being told that all the alleged criminals have been sent to police judicial custody for a week. Punjab Police Director Dr. Gaurav Yadav praised the Amritsar Commissioner and his team and congratulated them. He shared this message on his social media account.

Police Commissioner IPS Gurpreet Singh Bhullar gave information and said that the police station Chheharta had recently arrested a smuggler with more than 100 grams of drugs. When he was interrogated, he revealed the names of all the smugglers one by one. The wires of this network were connecting to Pakistan-India (Punjab) and Jammu and Kashmir. Then a surprising thing came to light that a female Anganwadi worker (female) used to hide consignments of drugs and weapons. She joined them due to greed for money. 5 smugglers were arrested from Jammu and Kashmir with the help of the local police there.
Know when and how drug deals were done
The police commissioner said that when they caught all of them and expanded the scope of their investigation, it was found that this consignment of drugs and weapons was brought from across Pakistan to Ajnala, Dera Baba Nanak area of Punjab, India twice through drones. It has been found that all of them have been doing this business for the last 3 months. They have a good setting with the smugglers of Pakistan. The police did not clarify which means of communication they use, saying it is a matter of investigation.

The main gang leader has been identified as Manjit Singh alias Bhola, resident of village Jhanjhoti, Ajnala; Aniket Verma (resident of Cheharta); Jobanpreet Singh alias Joban (resident of Cheharta); Babli (resident of Narayangarh, Cheharta); Harpreet Singh alias Happy (resident of Guru ki Wadali); Amritpal Singh alias Ansh (resident of Narayangarh, Cheharta); The accused have been identified as Reshma (resident of Kartar Nagar, Cheharta); Harshpreet Singh alias Harman alias Hamma (resident of village Thanda, Amritsar); Mandeep Singh alias Kaushal alias Joshi (resident of village Fatehpur, Amritsar); Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi; Lovepreet Singh alias Jashan (both residents of village Fatehpur) and Akashdeep Singh alias Arsh (resident of Cheharta).

2.19 kg heroin, 3 ultra-modern pistols, drug money worth Rs 2.60 lakh and a Fortuner car have been recovered from the alleged criminals. All the items were recovered from the house of the Anganwadi Mahila Panahgar. It has been found that the woman had built a basement in the house. The police recovered the consignment and other items from her basement.
