India’s star shooter Manu Bhaker won the bronze medal by finishing third in the 10m air pistol final at the Paris Olympics on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called and congratulated her on her historic victory. Manu also thanked him.

PM Modi had earlier congratulated Manu by tweeting. He wrote on X, “A historic medal. Well done, Manu Bhaker for winning India’s first medal at the Paris Olympics. Congratulations for the bronze medal. This success is even more special as she has become the first woman to win a medal in shooting for India. This is an incredible achievement.”

In response to this, Manu wrote, “Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji thank you for your blessings. I want to thank the government for all the support and encouragement. It means a lot.”

After this, the PM congratulated Paris Olympics bronze medalist Manu Bhaker over the phone. Its video has also surfaced. There was a long conversation between the two. After talking to the PM, the shooter said that he felt very happy that “he took time out from his busy schedule. We had a long conversation. He congratulated me. This means a lot to me.”
