On Tuesday morning, police raided the houses of many farmer leaders in Punjab. Police raided many areas of Malwa to arrest farmer leaders but failed. According to sources, farmers had anticipated police action.
Punjab Police raided the village of State Senior Vice President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan, Jhanda Singh Jethuke, but returned empty handed. On the other hand, police has taken into custody Ghaghar Singh, General Secretary of Ludhiana BKU Ugrahan. Police raided the house of farmer leader Sukhjinder Singh Rajan in Abohar at 4:30 am. The farmer leader said, are we criminals that police has been sent to our house so early in the morning.
In Amritsar, police arrested members of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ugrahan. In Nawanshahr, around 15 farmer leaders have been kept in different police stations. On the other hand, Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu posted on Twitter and condemned the arrest of farmers by the Punjab government. This clearly shows the anti-farmer mentality of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab.
15 farmers including the provincial head of the Qaumi Kisan Union, Binder Singh Golewala, have been detained in Faridkot. The police raided the houses of all the leaders including Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan Block Ajnala and District President Kashmir Singh, Block Leader Jaspal Singh Dhangai, Pragat Singh Charpur, Rupinder Singh Maduchhanga, District Leader Baghel Singh Kot Mughal early this morning. The villagers surrounded the police.
Jagseer Singh Chheeniwal, District President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Kadian, Sikander Singh Mann, Master Hardeep Singh Talewal of BKU Ugrahan, Judge Singh Gahal, District Leader of Revolutionary Kisan Union Manjeet Raj, President of BKU Dakaunda Block Shaihna Jagseer Singh Sira have been detained by the police from Barnala.
On Monday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann left the meeting with the farmers in anger. After this, the farmers announced to set up a permanent front in Chandigarh on March 5. After the meeting, CM Mann wrote on the X- Blocking the roads, stopping the trains or shutting down Punjab is not the solution to any problem. Due to all this, the common people have to suffer. It also affects the work and business of other sections of the society, which should be taken care of.
