Police officials will officially reveal the names of the accused on Friday. Some of the identified students are current students, while others are former students. Police investigating everyone’s role based on digital evidence

Police are investigating everyone’s role based on CCTV footage, mobile tower locations, and other digital evidence. Police have arrested a student from Jammu and Kashmir and brought him to Phagwara. A police team has been sent to search for two other students from Jammu and Kashmir. The arrested youth will be produced in court on Friday. On Thursday, Gagan, James Dahiya, and Abhi, residents of Tibbi Mohalla, Phagwara, were arrested. James Dahiya is a student at LPU, while Gagan worked as a pizza delivery boy for Domino’s. All three were produced in court and remanded to three days’ police custody. Police had previously arrested a youth named Sahil, who was carrying a rod and was seen walking with the people vandalizing the shops.

Preparations for Searches in PGs Also Underway

Police have also begun preparations to search PGs located around LPU’s Law Gate. Police argue that much of the goods stolen from shops during the violence and looting are likely to have been taken to nearby PGs. Police investigations have also revealed that some former students and other youths left the looted goods in their rooms and fled. In this situation, the police have sought official permission from the court to search the locked rooms and open the locks. The police have filed an application with the court for a search warrant to search the rooms in question. The police say that after receiving permission from the court, they will search these PG rooms and attempt to recover the looted items.

Several Youths Detained for Questioning

Police have detained several youths for questioning. One of these youths has been identified as a minor. Police are also questioning them regarding their role in the violence and vandalism. A student from Ludhiana was named as an accused by the LPU management. Police investigations revealed that he was at home at the time of the riots. CCTV footage from his home and mobile tower locations confirmed this. Police are currently investigating his role. Police have also obtained photographs of some girls who appear to be carrying the looted items. Their identities and roles are also being investigated.

Shops in the mall were looted.

On the night of September 26th, news of the rape of a student in the LPU hostel spread on social media. The violence on campus began immediately after this news spread. Subsequently, the campus was vandalized and shops in the Uni Mall were looted. Protesters blocked NH-44 on the Jalandhar-Phagwara route. This blockade lasted for more than 18 hours. The uncle of the arrested Gagan accused the police of withholding information. According to family members, Gagan had been missing for a day and was informed of his arrest by phone before his appearance. According to the family, he had joined a job at Domino’s only about a month and a half ago.

Feeling of fear in Punjab: Vice Chancellor Ashok Mittal.

LPU Chancellor and Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal has expressed concern over the violence. He said that he feels scared in Punjab. He expressed concern over incidents like drug abuse, gangsterism, snatching and kidnapping in Punjab. According to Mittal, the nature of the violence that took place in Chitkara University and LPU is similar. He alleged that students were instigated by spreading rumors through Reddit. Some external elements took advantage of the situation and vandalized and stole from LPU. Mittal called it a conspiracy to destabilize Punjab and demanded an investigation into the matter. He said that Punjab is a border state and those responsible behind this should be brought to ustice.###LPU###USA###UK###CANADA###PHAGWARA###JALANDHAR###PUNJAB###CHANDIGARH###INDIA###JAMMU###KASHMIR###INDIA###AUSTRALIA###NEWZEALAND###SINGAPORE###GERMANY###FRANCE###ITLAY###
