Dismissed DSP Gursher Singh, who was involved in the gangster Lawrence’s interview in police custody, has filed a bail petition in another case in Mohali District Court. The court has ordered the police to present the entire record related to the case on January 15.

In the petition, Gursher Singh Sidhu has mainly given 2 arguments. He says that the FIR registered against him in the State Crime Police Station of Mohali is wrong. The complaint of Baljinder Singh alias Tahla was investigated by the then SSP of Mohali, Sandeep Garg. Who found the complaint to be false. The second argument in the petition is that he has also been made a scapegoat in Lawrence Bishnoi’s interview controversy.

An FIR has been registered against dismissed DSP Gursher Singh Sandhu under serious charges in the State Crime Police Station, Mohali. In FIR number 33, Sandhu has been booked under sections 417, 465, 467, 468, 471 of the Indian Penal Code and section 13/2 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The complaint alleges that during his tenure as DSP, Sandhu targeted innocent people and got them to settle the cases by filing fake complaints. In this case, Baljinder Singh alias Tala, expressing fear of danger to his life, filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, in which it was alleged that DSP Sandhu got him to file complaints and then got the victims to settle the cases and collected money.

The Vigilance Department is also investigating the case separately, and questions are also being raised on the role of officers as to how these complaints kept getting marked to DSP Gursher Singh Sandhu and how they were filed in the name of settlement.
