Monsoon has entered Punjab. Monsoon entered the state via Pathankot about a week ago on Monday.Heavy rain occurred in Amritsar and Ludhiana including Pathankot. 5.0 mm rain was recorded in Pathankot, 39.0 mm in Amritsar and 49.0 mm in Ludhiana.

According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon will cover some more parts of Punjab in the next 2 days. The department has issued an alert of heavy rain with strong thunderstorms at many places in Punjab for the next 6 days. During this, an orange alert of very heavy rain has been issued especially for June 25.

After the rain, the temperature dropped by 0.7 degrees on Sunday. Due to this, it has now reached 3.3 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature of Punjab increased by 1.2 degrees. It has become 3.2 degrees above normal. The lowest minimum temperature of 26.5 degrees was recorded in Gurdaspur.
