The hooliganism of the liquor mafia and the network of those selling spurious liquor are increasing day by day. The mafia is armed with weapons all over Punjab, despite the fact that the administration and the government are aware of this, they are silent. They also have illegal weapons, firing has become a common thing for them. Who is responsible for all this? Only the present AAP government has the answers to these questions. Who had promised to crush the liquor mafia. But, I could not do any work.
The biggest problem facing Punjab at this time is the hooliganism of the liquor mafia. Spurious liquor is also being sold indiscriminately throughout Punjab. There is also discussion about this, the representatives of the government are giving them protection. Their pockets are getting filled with money. There is no one to take account. Perhaps, this is the big reason that from the hooliganism of the liquor mafia to the business of those selling spurious liquor, the business is booming. According to an estimate, 70 percent of spurious liquor is being sold in Punjab. The Excise Department, which claims to have caught a large number of spurious liquor, is itself responsible for this.
Within a short time, the hooliganism of the liquor mafia in Punjab has crossed all limits. The liquor mafia openly targeted the number one liquor selling businessmen with their firing, openly displaying their hooliganism. The government and administration were held directly responsible for a large number of injuries. Only nominal action was taken. Not being able to arrest anyone is a clear indication of the failure of the police system.
There is also discussion that the present government is supporting the liquor mafia from behind in Punjab. Because the government’s court is being run with their money. Taking the law in their hands, their goons never fail to commit any crime. It has come to light that even the government machinery helps them in saving them. The matter is completely hushed up just by putting it in the headlines. But, one thing is clear that in this entire episode only the general public gets harmed.
The matter is very serious, but the power of the opposition becomes very weak in cornering the government. Among the handful of opposition MLAs, the majority are those who remain silent. They are always afraid of this time, lest the government implicate them in some old case. The MLAs, who have been raising their voices loudly, are considering it time to remain silent on this issue.
Perhaps the Mann government should not forget that their government has also been formed with the individual vote of the people. If this mafia is not controlled in time, it can create big problems for the government in future.
