To crack down on criminals, Punjab Police is running Operation CASO across the state today (Wednesday). This operation is being led by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav himself. At the same time, senior officers of Punjab Police have also come to the field. This operation is going on on the lines of Safe Neighbourhood. During this, checking is being done from bus stand to all those areas.
Checking due to Dussehra and Panchayat elections
The festival season has started in the state. Dussehra is this week, while Panchayat elections are scheduled on October 15. In such a situation, the police is not in the mood to take any kind of leniency. This operation will run in all the districts of the state. All the strategies have been prepared for this. Police from 412 police stations will be involved in this. More than 8 thousand employees will be involved in the operation. All the plans have been prepared for this. There will be a special watch on the suspicious people.
List of all drug smugglers and criminals prepared
Lists of criminals, drug smugglers and narcotics have been prepared by the police in all districts. People included in the list are being kept under special surveillance. Similar campaigns are going on in the border areas. Officials say that our effort is to provide a safe environment to the people in the state. Before this, CASO operation has been conducted about 7 times. A large amount of narcotics, weapons and other items have been recovered.
