Power crisis is deepening in the state. Indefinite power cuts 2 to 4 times a day have made life difficult for the people of Punjab. A large section of people in Punjab is strongly opposing the free power facility provided by the state government. According to them, if you cannot provide full power supply, then what is the use of providing free power, it is better to make power cheaper and provide uninterrupted supply, so that the people of Punjab can breathe a sigh of relief.
On Wednesday, senior social worker of Punjab Praveen Sehgal was listening to the problems of the common people, during which he attacked the Punjab government and said these things. He declared that now the time has come for the people to unite and open a front against the government, now we will not have to step back, but will have to give a befitting reply to the government.
According to Sehgal, the power crisis in the state has deepened for some time. Power cuts have started occurring in different areas of the state for several hours. On top of that, the heat has made life difficult for people. Not only this, the power cuts are adversely affecting business. People are in an uproar over this. People are demanding answers from the government, while the government is sitting quietly. Sehgal alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had to face defeat in the Lok Sabha (general) elections, so the government is taking revenge from the common people for this. But this type of policy of the government will not be tolerated at all. The state government claims to take every decision on the lines of Delhi, but they should know very well that there are no power cuts there, the public gets the facility of uninterrupted power supply there.
Complaint number 1912 is absolutely useless
According to Sehgal, Power Com has issued complaint number 1912 for electricity related problems. Anyone can register their complaint by contacting there. But the surprising thing is that now no one picks up this number. Sehgal alleged that this is a completely useless number. This is the best way to fool people. It is better to close this number. At least people will be saved from getting harassed.
Big officers in name only….zero in work
Sahgal accused the big officers of Powercom and said that they are now officers only in name. Their work is absolutely zero. Contact numbers have been given publicly, but, no officer picks up the number. We would like to ask the government that now if we go with our problems, where should we go. In the end, there is only one way left and that is to take to the streets and protest against the government and administration. He warned that if the need arises, we will not hesitate to adopt this path also.
