Punjab-Haryana High Court has ordered Election Commission to videograph Municipal Corporation and Municipal Council elections of Punjab. The High Court has issued this order while disposing of the petition of BJP worker Vijay Kumar, resident of Patiala and others. Along with this, the State Election Commission has also been ordered to take immediate action on the complaint received in the Patiala case.

A petition was filed in the High Court alleging rigging during nomination in Patiala. The court was told that at many places BJP candidates are not being allowed to file nominations. Especially in Patiala, their candidates are being prevented from filing nominations. In such a situation, the High Court should issue orders to the State Election Commission in this matter. A complaint has been given to the Election Commission on behalf of the party regarding this.

At the same time, orders were also demanded to videograph the entire process of elections in entire Punjab including Patiala. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the High Court had decided to hear the petition immediately. After hearing all the parties, the court said that transparency is most important in elections. To maintain this and to avoid any disturbance, videography of the elections is very important.
