The most tension has arisen between MLA Rana Gurjit Singh from Kapurthala and MP Amarinder Singh Raja Vading from Ludhiana. Where Rana Gurjit Singh has made a scathing attack and said that Vading walks with a fake smile on his face. At the same time, Raja had a role in getting his seat cut from Anandpur Sahib. Along with this, Raja Vading said that the leaders who speak against the party on channels are violating discipline. If Vading’s point is understood, the party can also issue a notice to Rana Gurjit Singh.

Amidst all this, the interesting thing is that former CM Channi has made his presence felt. He is also keeping a distance from Raja Vading. Channi is also eyeing the CM’s chair again in the state politics. Who will be the new head of the party? There is confusion about this, but it is certain that the head of the party will be changed. The All India Congress Committee has recently appointed former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Baghel as the in-charge of Punjab. Since his appointment, there is talk of big changes in the Punjab Congress. Along with this, the discussion about changing the head has also intensified. Senior leaders of Punjab Congress have also started making attendance before the high command by going to Delhi. Along with this, he is also meeting the new in-charge. State President Amarinder Singh Raja Vading and Pratap Bajwa have recently gone to Delhi. After him, Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and MLA Pargat Singh also went to Delhi and met the in-charge. Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa said that he has met Bhupesh Baghel and he will come to Punjab next week. During this, he will meet with all the officials. At present, he has not talked about the change in the party leadership.
At the same time, Bhupesh Baghel says that he has been appointed for the time being. First of all, he will come to Punjab and meet all the leaders and take feedback. Only after that will he move forward, so that work can be started to strengthen the party at the local level. Amarinder Singh Raja Vading was appointed as the head of Punjab Congress on 9 April 2022. Many leaders in the party are trying to become the head, due to which factionalism has also increased in the party for some time.
Preparation for 2027 assembly elections started
Preparation for the assembly elections to be held in 2027 has already started. In this election, the party will bet on at least 60-70 new faces. State President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has said this. Rana Gurjit Singh was seeking a Lok Sabha ticket from Anandpur Sahib but his ticket was cut at the last moment. However, Rana Gurjit Singh himself is a Congress MLA from Kapurthala while his son Rana Inder Pratap Singh is an independent MLA from Sultanpur Lodhi.
The party will bet on a strong face
The party wants to bring forward a strong face who has a deep influence among the business community, farmers, Dalits apart from the urban class. Therefore, many leaders are in the race. In this connection, Rana Gurjit Singh has started cornering Warring. At the same time, Raja Warring has also started patting the back of Rana’s opponent MLA Sukhpal Khaira. It is not hidden from anyone that there has been political enmity between MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira and Rana Gurjit Singh for many years.
