Operation Sindoor was launched by India to take revenge for the Pahalgam attack. Pakistan, enraged by Operation Sindoor, also carried out drone attacks several times, but the Indian Army gave a befitting reply to these attacks and completely foiled the attacks with the air defense system.
Operation Sindoor’s Lieutenant General Sumer Ivan of the Indian Army, during an interview given to a channel a day earlier, claimed that the army had installed air defense guns in Sri Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple) amid the India-Pakistan tension. However, this claim of the military officer has been completely rejected by the additional head granthi Singh Sahib of Harimandir Sahib Giani Amarjit Singh. He has described this statement as surprising.
Outside and overhead lights were switched off during the blackout
Giani Amarjit Singh clarified that the management of Harimandir Sahib cooperated in view of the instructions issued by the Amritsar district administration regarding the recent blackout in the city. During this time, the outer and upper lights of the Harimandir Sahib complex were switched off as per the prescribed time limit, but wherever the rituals of Guru Sahib are performed, the lights were lit and the rituals were performed with full responsibility.
Permission not given to install air defense guns
Gyani Amarjit Singh said that the claim of the Lieutenant General of the Indian Army that the Head Granthi has allowed the Army to install its air defense guns in Sri Harimandir Sahib during Operation Sindoor is fundamentally wrong because no such permission has been given. No such incident of installing guns at this holy place has been approved. He said that the daily rituals of Sri Harimandir Sahib complex, Sri Guru Ramdas Ji’s Langar, places with Sri Akhand Path Sahiban and other related Guru places are mandatory, in which no one has the right to interfere in any way and despite the recent situation, the rituals of Guru Darbar in Sri Harimandir Sahib complex have been continued with full devotion and determination.
Giving such a statement is wrong and surprising
Gyani Amarjit Singh said that during the blackout, the lights were not switched off at any Guru place where rituals are performed. Singh Sahib said that only he can clarify why the Indian Army officer gave such a statement, but saying so is very wrong and surprising. He said that as Additional Chief Granthi, he is insisting that the army was not given any permission to install cannons.
No contact with army officials – Dhami
Regarding this statement of the army officer, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the government and the district administration had contacted them to switch off the lights during the blackout, in which we had fully cooperated considering it an administrative responsibility. No contact has been made with the Indian Army officials regarding the installation of air defense guns in Sri Harimandir Sahib.
Devotees visited Harimandir Sahib even during the blackout
He said that only the external lights were switched off in consultation with Additional Chief Granthi Giani Amarjit Singh to follow the instructions issued by the district administration. Advocate Dhami said that even during the blackout, a large number of devotees continued to visit Sri Harimandir Sahib to pay obeisance and perform seva and if any incident like installation of air gun had happened, the devotees would have definitely seen it and taken cognizance of it. It is surprising why an army officer is promoting such a thing. The Government of India should clarify why army officers are making such statements. The role played by the country and the army in the recently created tense situation is commendable, but it is surprising to spread such misinformation about the main religious place of the Sikhs after several days. As the President of the Shiromani Committee, Advocate Dhami clarified that no permission has been given to install air defense system in the Harimandir Sahib complex.
There was no discussion about keeping guns
Gyani Raghbir Singh, Head Granthi of Sri Harimandir Sahib, also clarified that although he was on a foreign tour when the military operation was going on, there was no discussion with him about keeping guns during that time, nor did anything like this happen in Sri Harimandir Sahib. Giani Raghbir Singh has described the statement of the military officer as surprising.
