Union Home Director Mayank Mishra on Sunday met farmer leader Jagjit Dallewal, who has been on a hunger strike for 20 days in the ongoing farmer agitation on Shambhu and Khanauri border. He reached Khanauri border with Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

After the meeting, Mishra said that he has taken information about the demands of the farmers. He refused the proposal of talks from the Center. The Supreme Court had ordered medical help for Dallewal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh had a meeting on Saturday. In this, Prime Minister Modi was informed about the farmer agitation. BJP President JP Nadda and Union Minister Piyush Goyal were also present in the meeting.

Farmers waiting for a big announcement

After PM Modi became active regarding the farmer agitation, it is believed that a big announcement can be made by the Center regarding the demands of the farmers. Punjab DGP said that Dallewal’s life is precious. We are coordinating with everyone and creating an environment to take the talks forward. The Central Home Director has also come with me. He will send the demands of the farmers to the Center. The Punjab government has also asked to take forward the demands of the farmers.

Dallewal refuses to end his fast

Dallewal has refused to end his fast unto death. On Saturday, while lying on the bed at the Khanauri border, Dallewal said that the lives of farmers who are committing suicide due to the wrong policies of the government are more valuable than my life.

The health of Jagjit Dallewal, who is on a fast unto death at the Khanauri border, is continuously deteriorating. Doctors say that he has lost more than 12 kg of weight. There is a risk of his kidney damage and liver damage as well. Since he is a cancer patient, his health remains very worrying. He can get a heart attack anytime. Despite this, he is not taking any medicine.

2 days ago, the Supreme Court had directed the Central and Punjab governments to immediately provide medical help to Dallewal. Do not try to force-feed him anything. The Supreme Court had said that his life is more important than the movement.

Chadhuni said – Farmers of the whole country have to be united

Farmer leader Sarwan Pandher had asked all the organizations of the United Kisan Morcha to join the movement, after which today BKU leader Gurnam Chadhuni also reached Khanauri border, where he met Dallewal. While talking to the media, he said that the government should settle the matter through talks. He also said that to make this movement successful, farmer organizations of the whole country will have to be united.

Speaking on the tear gas shells fired by the police on the farmers, he said that there is no election near, so the government is carefree that we will not lose voters. Till now the movement is not happening in the whole country, it is happening only in Punjab, if it was in the whole country then its weight would have been different.

10 farmers injured in Delhi march, tractor march on 16th

On the other hand, on Saturday, the farmers’ attempt to march to Delhi for the third time failed. Haryana Police stopped them at the border as before. After this, farmer leader Sarwan Pandher said that on December 16, tractor marches will be taken out in the whole country except Punjab. On December 18, Rail Roko Abhiyan will be run in Punjab from 12 noon to 3 pm. No group will march to Delhi till December 18.

On Saturday, a person attempted suicide at the Shambhu border. Farmer leader Tejveer Singh had told that a youth from Khanna in Ludhiana swallowed sulphas. He was identified as Ranjodh Singh. Due to his critical condition, he was first taken to a nearby hospital, from where he was referred to Rajendra Hospital in Patiala. Ranjodh Singh was joining the farmers’ movement to get his loan waived off.

Wrestler and Congress MLA Vinesh Phogat reached Khanauri border on Sunday. She said, ‘Dallewal is risking his life for others. I urge the people of Punjab, Haryana and the entire country to participate in this protest. There is an emergency-like situation in the country. The government will have to find a solution to this. PM Modi gives very big speeches. Yesterday also he gave a speech in Parliament, but now he will have to do something other than giving speeches.
