The Central-Punjab government always claims that their government always stands for women. It is always said that if you have any kind of inconvenience, do not panic, the government officer will reach you immediately and your problem will be solved on priority. But, this claim and promise proved to be a failure when the police officers and employees of the CIA staff, who are called the protectors of the common people, kept a female advocate living in Amritsar area of Punjab province in custody for about 6 hours and gang-raped her. Cases were registered against all those who were accused, while the FIR was also done on the orders of the High Court of the state. At present, the police is being accused of protecting its alleged criminal officers and employees.
Meanwhile, a video of the woman is also being circulated very fast on social media. In which the woman is appealing to PM Modi, CM Mann, DGP Yadav regarding the gang rape that happened with her and the lax action of the police till now that …… I am also a daughter of some mother, she should be given justice from the rapist police officers and employees …. She herself is alone in the family, one brother who is mentally unstable. Father has passed away. The police took me to the police station by trapping me in a false case. Whatever those people did there, it will not be so easy for a woman to give a statement about it. It is being told that the pictures of sexual harassment with the victim woman have also come out, which is a big proof against the police. The woman also said that the phone location of the day she was falsely taken into custody should also be checked. It will clearly prove who is the truth and who is a lie.
Know, what was the whole matter
Actually, on the evening of 23 February at around 6 o’clock, the police vehicle reaches the house of the victim advocate. He introduces himself as CIA Staff No. 3. He is accused of selling stolen cars. Your brother is also involved in this. He confessed your name during police interrogation. He said that stolen cars are hidden in your house. Police takes him along for interrogation. According to the victim advocate, there senior police officers and employees gang-raped her one by one. She was left at home at 11-12 in the night.
No one listened to the complaint
The victim advocate alleged that she went to all the senior police officers regarding this matter. A written complaint was also given to them. But no one listened to her complaint. Finally she filed a petition in Punjab and Haryana (High Court). The court took strict cognizance of this matter and issued an order to the police to immediately register a case against the accused police officers. But, the irony is that the police registered a criminal case against only 4 police officers and employees. Whereas, according to the victim advocate, the total number of people who gang-raped her was about a dozen.
The police had fabricated a false story
Reliable sources in the police department tell that the police had implicated the female advocate in a false case. Actually, one of the woman’s brothers works for the police, whereas, the advocate did not like his work. However, he is in jail due to criminal cases. The female advocate has no dealings with him. Therefore, CIA Staff 3 had added the name of the female advocate in the car theft gang in the past. However, the local court has granted bail to the victim advocate in this case. Orders were also issued for her to be a part of the investigation.
This allegation was also made against the police
The woman has made a serious allegation against the police that she has been going to participate in the police investigation for the last 3 days, whereas, the outer gate is closed before her arrival. In such a situation, how can she participate in the police investigation. For this, a complaint was given to the senior police officials. At present, no reply has come from it till now.
….It is a matter of shame that even a medical test was not allowed, order was taken from the court
The society becomes ashamed when the fundamental right of the victim woman (medical test of the rape victim) was not allowed by the police officers. When the victim woman advocate had to seek refuge in the court for the case, then permission was received for her medical test in the government hospital. At present, her medical report is yet to come. The report will make it clear how much brutality was shown to the victim advocate.
….This is also a matter of investigation in a way
How much truth is there in the sad story told by the woman advocate, all this will be proved in an impartial investigation. But, a question also arises that who gave the police the right to take a woman into custody and rape her. Everyone has the freedom of expression, which has been given to every citizen (including men and women) by our Constitution and the Supreme Court of the country. In such a situation, it is clearly written in the human rights guidelines that police cannot torture anyone in police custody by using third degree or any other means related to heinous crime. There is also a provision for immediate action against those who do this. According to the law and constitution, on the basis of the woman’s complaint, an investigation should be conducted against all police officers and employees under the supervision of a sitting judge. Because, this case is related to a heinous crime.
From the government to the police, everyone will have to answer
Since this matter has become very serious. So far, the sad story of the victimized female advocate has become a part of the headlines in various social media platforms. Many national newspapers and channels have published and broadcast the news of the victim. The police already has the complaint copy of this case and the copy of the FIR registered against the alleged criminals. But, the surprising thing is that till now no statement has come from any senior police officer regarding this matter. This makes it clear that somewhere the police is trying to save the reputation of its officers and employees. Now the matter comes to the government camp, it has to be seen how much seriousness it shows regarding this matter. The wait will be for when the people who committed the heinous crime on the orders of the government and the police are behind the bars.
