After the tension between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the gates of the border were completely closed on Thursday. Due to which hundreds of people got stuck on both sides. In view of these circumstances, the gates were opened on both sides and the citizens of both sides were allowed to cross the border. There was an atmosphere of fear in the minds of the people that now they don’t know what will happen to them next. People were constantly pleading to the governments to let them return to their homes to their loved ones.

On Thursday, the gates remained closed on both sides and people got stuck. Meanwhile, a statement was issued by the Pakistan Foreign Ministry that due to the sudden cancellation of visas issued to Pakistani citizens, many patients have returned via Wagah border in critical condition without completing their treatment. Due to this decision, many families were forcibly separated, in which children also got separated from their parents. Although the last date for returning from Wagah border was 30 April, according to media reports some Pakistani citizens are still stranded at Attari border. If the Indian administration allows, we are ready to take our citizens back. Wagah border will remain open for returning Pakistani citizens in future as well. After which the Indian government had issued orders to open the gate to bring back its citizens and to allow Pakistani citizens to cross the border.

Sakeena, who reached Attari border to go to Pakistan, said that she had come to India about 20 days ago to meet one of her relatives. On the evening of 30 April, she reached Attari to go back. But due to delay, she could not go back. She was very nervous when the gate did not open on 1 May. But today she is being sent back. She is very happy and also prays to Allah-Taala that a friendly relationship is formed between the two countries and this border remains open forever.

Noor, a resident of Lahore, said that on May 1, she reached the Attari border to go to Pakistan. Her husband and children were waiting for her at the Wagah border. But when she was not sent back for the whole day, her husband and children were very scared. But today she is going back and is very happy that she will be able to meet her children and husband. Similarly, Rajesh, who went to Haridwar with 16 members of his family to take a bath, said that the government has opened the gates to send them back. For this, he thanks the governments of both the countries and hopes that the situation will improve in the future.
