Punjab Police has seized huge amount of narcotics and drug money while taking action against drug smuggling. Not only this, the police has also succeeded in arresting three accused. Initial investigation has revealed that this drug came from across the border and was to be distributed in Punjab as well as other states.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Counter Intelligence Amritsar has arrested three people under a special operation. This arrest has been made near Punjabi Bagh Resort near Attari Road in Amritsar. At present, after registering the case, information is being obtained from the accused about their previous relations. Soon the police will also make some more arrests in this case.
During the action, the police seized 5 kg heroin and drug money worth Rs 4.45 lakh from the accused. The DGP said that strict action is going on to expose and uproot the entire network involved in this case. Punjab Police also said in its statement that it is fully committed to making the state drug-free and will continuously run campaigns against such networks. This operation is being considered a tough blow to drug smugglers in the state.
