An encounter has taken place between the police and the criminals of the robber gang. The police also retaliated. One accused was shot in the police firing and was injured. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh said that on the night of 7 May, Adesh Kapoor, a resident of Ranjit Avenue, was returning home from his work. Meanwhile, three criminals blocked his way and robbed the car by threatening to shoot him. Adesh Kapoor lodged a complaint immediately after the incident. Acting on the complaint, the police started the investigation.

On Friday afternoon, the police received information that a Kia car without a number plate was moving from Ranjit Avenue Housing Board Colony. Accordingly, the police team immediately set up a trap and blocked the road. The three accused were coming in a car. The police signaled them to stop, but the accused started running away from there. When the police team chased them, the accused Kanwalpreet Singh opened fire on the police. In the retaliatory action of the police, the accused was shot and he was arrested after surrounding him. The accused injured by the bullet has been admitted to the hospital. The other two miscreants are being questioned.
