After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, all communication between India and Pakistan has stopped. Even Pakistani citizens living in India have returned to their country. Trade is also completely closed amid tension between the two countries. In such a situation, Pakistan has come on the back foot and has allowed trucks loaded with goods coming from Afghanistan to go to India via Wagah border. However, till now there has been no response from the Indian government on this issue.

150 trucks carrying dry fruits and other goods coming from Afghanistan have got permission to cross the Wagah border. But due to the closure of the border by the Indian government, permission has not been given to receive them from Attari side for now.

After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the Indian government had announced the closure of ICP. After this, all the trucks coming from Afghanistan were stopped in Pakistan itself. But now permission has been granted to cross Wagah after a request from the Afghanistan Embassy. Most of the goods coming in these trucks belong to traders from Delhi and Mumbai.

On the other hand, Anil Mehra, head of Dry Fruit Grocery Merchant Association, said that the country is the best, trade exchange keeps happening. The Indian government will not let the trade get affected. Therefore, trade with Afghanistan will continue through some other route.
