Hamida Bano, trapped in Pakistan, returned to her country after 22 years

Hamida Bano of Mumbai returned to her country after nearly 22 years. 70-year-old Hamida Bano, a resident of Kurla, Mumbai, was trapped in Pakistan. She had never given up hope of returning to India.

Hamida Bano reached India via the Attari border on Monday. When she entered India, there were tears in her eyes. When Hamida reached the Attari border, Ramesh Yadav, President of the Folklore Research Academy, Amritsar, received her.

She was sent to Pakistan in the name of a job in Dubai

In 2002, Hamida Bano was promised a job as a cook in Dubai by a Mumbai agent, but the agent sent her to Pakistan instead of Dubai. When Hamida Bano came to know that she had come to Pakistan, she panicked. Due to fear, she neither told anything to the Pakistan police nor asked for help from anyone.

Hamida Bano’s family living in Mumbai was also worried about where Hamida Bano had gone. Hamida lived in Hyderabad in Sindh province of Pakistan and earned her livelihood by selling toffees on the road. She came in contact with a man in Karachi. He proposed marriage to Hamida. After marriage, Hamida started living with him, but her husband died during the Corona period.

Children came to know from the internet that their mother is in Pakistan
Hamida told that in 2022, her children came to know through the internet that I am in Pakistan. The madrasa outside which Hamida Bano used to sit and sell toffees. A child used to come there to buy toffees from her. This child joined a channel after completing his education. He interviewed Hamida on his channel, which went viral.

This video was also seen by Hamida’s daughters Yasmin and Praveen living in Mumbai. This video also came to the notice of Pakistan authorities. After this, the Pakistan government started the process of sending Hamida to India. Along with this, this news was also aired on Pakistani TV channels and Hamida was sent from Pakistan to India.
