PUNJAB–Bike riders were going on the wrong side, three youths died after being hit by a car.

Three youths riding a bike on the wrong side on the elevated from the local Ramtalai Chowk of Amritsar were hit by a car coming from the front. All three youths riding the bike died in the accident. The incident happened late on Monday night. All three youths are residents of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. All three used to work in a restaurant on Sau Phuti Road in Amritsar. Police have taken the car and bike into custody. According to the investigating police officers, the car belongs to an officer of the taxation department. Its driver is a head constable in Punjab Police.

According to the information received from the family members of the deceased, Vishesh Sharma, resident of village Badwal in Hamirpur district of Himachal, Abhishek Sharma, resident of village Gurchal in Noorpur and Vivek Sharma, resident of village Lakhnat, used to work in a restaurant located on Sau Phuti Road in Amritsar. Vivek was called by Vishesh and Abhishek a few days ago to get him a job in a restaurant in Amritsar. All three used to work in the restaurant every evening and after finishing work at 2 am, they used to go to their rented room in Doburji.

On Monday night, after finishing their work, all three left for Doburji area on their bike. Their bike was coming on the wrong side on the elevated road from Ramtalai Chowk. When they reached the top of the bridge, a speeding car coming from the front hit their bike. During the accident, all three fell away and died on the spot. People nearby informed the police about the accident. Inspector Sukhbir Singh said that after post-mortem, the bodies have been handed over to the family members.
