The series of deaths in the poisonous liquor tragedy in Amritsar, Punjab continues for the third day. One more person has died after drinking poisonous liquor in Majitha, Amritsar. Now the death toll has risen to 27.
So far 27 deaths have been confirmed due to poisonous liquor in various villages of Majitha constituency. The death toll is increasing day by day. Earlier on Tuesday, 21 people died. On Wednesday, two more people died. On Thursday, the death toll has reached 27.
While eight people are still admitted in the hospital and their condition is also said to be very serious. At the same time, continuous raids are being conducted by the police to curb the mafia making poisonous liquor. So far 16 people have been arrested in this case. While a case has been registered against 18 people.
According to the information, a total of seven people have died from Bhangali Kala of Majitha town. Their names are Joginder Singh, Iqbal Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Robinjit Singh, Balbir Singh, Raja, Joginder Singh and Sarwan Singh. Five people have died from Maradi Kala. Their names are Major Singh, Paramjit Singh, Tasbir Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Sarabjit Singh. Similarly, three people Joginder Singh, Karnail Singh and Ajit Singh died from village Thariwal.
Two people from village Karnala are Kaka and Gagan. Six people from village Bhagwan are Satpal Singh, Mukhtiyar Singh, Balkar Singh, Sahib Singh, Channan Singh, Dilbag Singh. Two people from village Patalpuri are Ganju Ram and Romi and the person killed from village Talwandi Khumman is Amarpal Singh and Rajesh Kumar from village Gallowal Khulian.
After the death of people, the police came into action and arrested Pankaj Kumar alias Sahil and Arvind Kumar, owners of Sahil Chemicals located in Sukh Enclave, Ludhiana. The main accused Sahib Singh had ordered 50 liters of methanol from these two. During police interrogation, Pankaj and Arvind told that the accused had told them that he has a soap manufacturing factory and he needs methanol for this purpose. But they did not know that the accused is involved in the business of making liquor from methanol.
