After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, tensions between India and Pakistan are at their peak. The tension between the two countries has increased to such an extent that now people of each other’s countries are having to return to their respective countries. Amidst this tension, the bride and groom living in both the countries could not be with each other. Their wedding also got stuck. The groom said that the bride is waiting for me. All the preparations for the wedding have been done. So let me go.

When the groom wearing a sehra and sherwani reached the Attari border with the wedding procession, everyone was surprised to see them. Actually this wedding procession was not going anywhere else but to Pakistan. As soon as the wedding procession reached the border, the BSF officials stopped them and clearly refused to let them go further. Because neither the groom nor the baraatis had Pakistani citizenship. Due to this, a groom who was going to Pakistan to take his bride had to return empty handed from the border without marrying his bride.

Groom Sanjay Singh of Barmer district of Rajasthan had to return from Attari border. BSF sent him back along with the baraat. Sanjay Singh was to marry Kesar Kanwar, a resident of Amarkot district of Sindh state of Pakistan, on 30 April.

According to the information, Sanjay Singh and Kesar Kanwar were engaged about four years ago. Kesar Kanwar had to go back to Pakistan due to non-extension of her visa. After this, after a lot of struggle, Sanjay Singh and his family and some other people got the visa. Its duration is till 12 May. The marriage of both was fixed on 30 April. Sanjay Singh reached Attari border on Friday with his family and some other relatives to go to Pakistan for marriage, but he was not allowed to go to Pakistan and was sent back from Attari border itself.

Groom appeals to the Indian government to send him to Pakistan

Sanjay Singh said that he had got the visa with difficulty after a long wait. Now that his marriage is fixed, he is not being allowed to go. He said that all the preparations for the marriage have been completed at his wife Kesar Kanwar’s house in Pakistan. People are waiting for them there. They are facing a lot of problems. He has appealed to the Indian government to allow him to go to Pakistan.
