Police claimed to have arrested 5 smugglers involved in international drug smuggling. All the alleged criminals are residents of the border area near Gharinda. 3 kg heroin, banned medicines, 0.32 bore pistol and 3 live cartridges were recovered from their possession. Everyone was traveling in a luxury car. The arrest was made by a team of CIA staff from the Bhaini Basarke area. The gang was being run by an inmate from Goindwal Central Jail. Police did not confirm his name. Alleged smugglers are being linked to Pakistan. This was confirmed by Police Chief Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
The Police Commissioner informed that his CIA staff police had come to know that 5 youths resident of village Gharinda were involved in drug trade. The link is with notorious smugglers of Pakistan. Consignments have been ordered from across the border through drones several times. The team caught him near village Bhaini Basarke during a special naka. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a prisoner in Goindwal Sahib Central Jail is their leader. Work on his instructions. Further, he has contact with smuggler Kala, Rana living in Pakistan. How many times have you taken consignment and supplied it further? Who all are connected to their link? Which smugglers do you have connections with here and in Pakistan? Everything is being ascertained. The Commissioner is claiming to achieve great success in the coming days.

The alleged criminals were identified as Gagandeep Singh @ Gora, Harmandeep Singh @ Harman @ Happy, Charanjeet Singh @ Charan, Germanpreet Singh @ German, Lavneet Singh @ Rahul resident of Police Station Gharinda. It is being ascertained against whom criminal cases have been registered in the past. What crimes have they committed? The police are investigating all issues very seriously.
