A five-year-old girl from the Abohar Pakka Seed Farm area died while undergoing treatment at Bathinda AIIMS. The girl had been in critical condition for several days. Police have arrested her stepmother, Akko Bai, in connection with the case, and after the girl’s death, a murder charge was added to the already registered case.
The girl was assaulted on September 30th
The body was brought to the Government Hospital in Abohar for a post-mortem examination. According to reports, the girl lived with her father, Gurditt Singh, and stepmother. It is alleged that she was assaulted on September 30th, leaving her seriously injured. When her condition deteriorated, she was first taken to a local hospital, from where she was referred to Bathinda AIIMS.
The accused woman arrested
The girl died during treatment late Monday evening. Following the incident, police detained Akko Bai for questioning. Due to the girl’s critical condition, police were awaiting her statement. After receiving information about the death, the police arrested the woman and initiated further legal action.
Residents of the neighborhood have demanded an impartial investigation into the matter and strict legal action against all those involved. Some have also suspected a property dispute as the reason behind the incident, although this has not been officially confirmed.
