An attempt was made to overturn the Punjab Mail by placing an iron rod on the Bathinda railway track in Punjab. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the GRP police showed promptness and arrested the accused.
According to the information, when the Punjab Mail Express train was coming from Mansa to Bathinda track, the driver of the train noticed a suspicious object placed on the track from a distance. The loco pilot immediately applied brakes and stopped the train and informed the police. During investigation, it was found that someone had deliberately placed the iron rod on the track.
The accused was identified with the help of CCTV footage. The accused has been identified as Lali Singh, a resident of Mansa. The police took immediate action and arrested the accused. Police station GRP in-charge Jasvir Singh said that the accused is being interrogated and it is being ascertained what his intention was.
