Due to a land dispute in Faridkot, a young man killed his sister and her husband (brother-in-law). The accused youth killed both of them by attacking them with a sharp weapon. This incident has created a sensation in the area. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the local police reached the spot and took both the bodies into custody and started investigation. The deceased have been identified as Harpreet Kaur Resham Singh.
This horrific incident took place in village Kaniyanwali under Police Station Sadiq of Faridkot. In a dispute over ancestral land, the accused brother Arshpreet Singh killed his sister and brother-in-law by attacking them with a sharp weapon. The incident happened on Friday morning.
The deceased Harpreet Kaur had come to her maternal home from Moga with her husband Resham Singh to serve her ailing father Gamdur Singh. There was a dispute between brother Arshpreet Singh and sister Harpreet Kaur over the division of the father’s 8 acres of land. On Thursday night, there was an argument between the two over the land. On Friday morning, there was a fight between the two again. During this, Arshpreet attacked brother-in-law Resham Singh with a sharp weapon. He also attacked sister Harpreet who came to intervene. Both died on the spot.
