Anger is man’s biggest enemy. In anger, a person loses his temper and harms himself. A similar case has come to light in Kotkapura, Punjab, where a Kabaddi player killed his own wife over a small matter.

In village Khara of Thana Sadar Kotkapura area, a husband strangled his wife to death when she opposed the sale of farm soil. After this the accused absconded. The police have sent the body to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Hospital in Faridkot for post-mortem and started investigating the case.

Gagandeep Kaur (40), a resident of Brahmin Wala village in Kotkapura, was married to Jaspreet Singh alias Shaktiman, a Kabaddi player from village Khara. Jaspreet wanted to sell his land, but Gagandeep used to stop him from doing so. On Monday, Jaspreet Singh was selling the soil of his fields. When Gagandeep Kaur protested after reaching the farm, Jaspreet Singh strangled her to death.

Gagandeep’s brother Baltej Singh alleged that Gagandeep’s husband and her in-laws were not giving money to his sister. She was working in a private bank to raise the children. Jaspreet Singh is also addicted to drugs and his family members instigated him to commit the murder. He demanded strict action against Jaspreet and his family members.

At the same time, DSP Kotkapura Jatinder Singh said that after the information, the police is investigating the matter. Further action will be taken on the basis of the statement of Gagandeep’s maternal family. Initial investigation has revealed that due to land dispute, Jaspreet strangled Gagandeep to death with her dupatta.
