BIG NEWS–Two people brutally beaten by police—- One youth is son of ex-serviceman.

In Punjab’s Patiala, police personnel had beaten Army Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son a few days ago. Now another such incident has happened. A case has come to light of two people of village Bhalla Majra of Fatehgarh Sahib district being brutally beaten and injured by the police. One of the injured youth is the son of an ex-serviceman. As soon as Patiala’s Colonel Bath’s wife Ritu Bath came to know about this incident, she reached Civil Hospital Fatehgarh Sahib to know the condition of both the youths and inquired about the whole matter from them. After this, Ritu Bath met SSP Shubham Aggarwal along with the victim’s family and demanded justice.

The victim’s brother Amandeep Singh told that on the night of April 11, the police surrounded his brother in village Tarkheri and took him into custody and brought him to the police station and beat his brother and his driver badly. The police made both of them bleed. The police accused his brother of drug addiction and also threatened to demolish the house, whereas his brother does not do such things at all.

Ritu Bath and BJP leader Gurtej Singh Dhillon said that the police of Kheda Chowki have illegally beaten up the son of a former soldier of Bhallamajra and his driver with the intention of implicating them in a false case, which is condemnable. They have met the SSP regarding this matter. Where the District Police Chief has taken action in this matter and suspended two policemen and assured that the matter will be investigated and action will be taken against the employees found guilty.

The victim’s brother Amandeep Singh said that his brother was coming from Bathinda, when the police stopped him near village Tarkhedi. On the night of 9-10 April, the police took him with them and beat him up. In the morning he was admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment. He appealed to the police to get justice and take action against the guilty policemen.

In this regard, SPD Rakesh Yadav said that the District Police Chief took the matter seriously and took immediate action and suspended two employees in the case. A team has been formed to investigate the matter.
